Will the duplicated disc differ from the original and will the "chapters" be copied from the master?

All duplications are made using digital technology. That means that the duplications will be identical to the master disc in every way. Everything on the master disc will be transferred exactly to the duplicated discs.

What is Copy Protection?

Copy Protection is a method of embedding a special embedded technology onto a recorded optical disc that works to prevent someone from being able to copy or rip the content onto another disc or computer for the purpose of unauthorized reproduction of the content without permission. Vinpower offers multiple ranges of optical disc DVD and Blu-ray copy protection that provide varying levels of strength in protecting the content on the discs.

What types of copy protection is offered for DVD?

Vinpower Digital has developed the first true standalone duplicator which can offer embedded copy protection. The unique CopyLock Software can embed a proprietary CPS copy protection encryption into any DVD video master through a PC, which will produce a VCP or OCP protected image file. The VCP or OCP protected image file can then be transferred onto a CPS enabled Vinpower Digital duplicator to produce as many copy protected reproductions as the user needs. Since the CPS technology is software based as opposed to hardware based, there are no issues with compatibility with players, unlike competing protections on the market. In addition, the CPS technology offers the same secure protection against unauthorized duplication and ripping for a double dose of protection whereas similar applications from competitors cannot block ripping.

The difference between the VCP and OCP formats is that the VCP requires a license dongle in order to add the protection onto the discs and the OCP does not require any licenses as long as true OptoDisc MID media are used during the duplication process. So the VCP has an added cost, but allows you to use any media you'd like and the OCP has no added costs as long as you use OptoDisc manufactured media.

In today's savvy hi-tech world, consumers are often purchasing a single video and making copies for their friends which limit the overall sales. If you worked hard and put in a lot of effort and expense into creating your video project, you shouldn't be restricted in the number of units you can sell because you can't afford the high price of replicated copy protection. Instead, by using Vinpower Digital's CPS technology, you can feel secure at a fraction of the expense with the VCP format or FREE with the OCP format in less time with no minimum or maximum quantities required.

What types of copy protection is offered for Blu-ray?

Vinpower Digital has developed the first true standalone duplicator which can offer embedded Blu-ray copy protection. There are two versions of protection offered: The incredibly strong BD CPS version that provides secure protection against both unauthorized copying and ripping and the EZ-BDCP that provides a simplified protection against copying. The difference between the BD CPS and EZ-BDCP version is that the BD CPS requires a license dongle and proprietary software in order to add a highly secure copy and ripping protection onto the discs. The EZ-BDCP does not require any software, licenses, or anything, you simple make copies through a specially designated BD duplicator and use true OptoDisc MID media during the duplication process to add a lighter version but still secure copy protection. So the BD CPS has an added cost, but offers a much stronger protection and allows you to use any media you'd like and the EZ-BDCP has no added costs as long as you use designated duplicator hardware and OptoDisc manufactured media.

For the BD CPS, it works very much the same as the CPS, through the unique CopyLock Software, which can embed a proprietary CPS copy protection encryption into any Blu-ray video master through a PC, which produces a BCP copy protected image file. That BCP copy protected image file can then be transferred onto a CPS enabled Vinpower Digital duplicator to produce as many copy protected reproductions as the user needs. Since BD CPS is software based as opposed to hardware based, there are no issues with compatibility with players, unlike competing protections on the market. In addition, BD CPS offers secure protection against unauthorized duplication and ripping for a double dose of protection whereas similar applications from competitors cannot block ripping.

What's the difference between VCP, BCP, and OCP?

VCP, BCP, and OCP are all shortened initialisms to describe the different types of optical disc copy protection Vinpower offers.
